YBN Namir Drops “Soul Train 2” & Akademiks Caught Slipping

What’s poppin y’all,

Well, well, well. We’ve got a new YBN Namir track, and it’s "Soul Train 2." You already know I’m recording a video on this as soon as I hit send on this email. This was an interesting one. I think I was one of the first pages to post it, and rightfully so—I’ve talked about Namir over the years, so why wouldn’t I cover it when he drops something new?

This is the follow-up to one of his most viewed tracks—and one of the most disliked tracks of all time. But honestly? It’s not bad. It’s a completely different style from anything we’ve heard from Namir before. I’m seeing mixed reviews on it—some people like it, and for me, it might even grow on me. One thing I can say for sure: I don’t dislike it on first listen. I respect that he’s always experimenting, and that’s something I’ve always liked about him.

Akademiks & Fake News

Now, onto something funny. Akademiks got caught posting fake news. There’s this parody page called DailyNoud, pretending to be Daily Loud, and they posted a fake PartyNextDoor tweet saying:

"It's an album to f** to, not sit down and analyze, my guy. Get some b*****s."*

And Akademiks fell for it, posting it on his main page. Now, it happens—people get fooled by parody pages. But the context makes it worse. This wasn’t just any fake post—it was in favor of Drake and taking shots at Kendrick Lamar.

When I first saw it on my feed, I thought, “Wait, what the hell is this?” It didn’t sound like PND at all, so I checked the page, and yep—it was a parody account. For Ak to run with it just shows that when you have a certain bias, you’ll post anything that fits the narrative.

What’s Next?

I’ve got a few more things to record today, and I should have a main channel video dropping tomorrow or the day after. It’s a good one. A real good one.

See you guys then.
