Diddy's Lawyer Abandons Him (& Stream Today)
What’s poppin y’all,
Today, I just planned on streaming. It should be at 1 PM EST on YouTube—I already scheduled it, so hopefully, I can get some food in before then. I was just going to talk about the recent happenings in hip-hop, but then I wake up and see that one of Diddy’s lawyers has abandoned him.
Now, of course, the headlines are making it sound like Diddy’s entire legal team left him, but the reality is that he still has a team of six lawyers. What makes this interesting is that his trial is supposed to start in May, which is coming up very, very soon.
We’re witnessing some of the most historic cases in hip-hop right now. A$AP Rocky just beat his case, and this is the first time in hip-hop history where someone was literally on the stand pointing at him, saying he shot them—and he still won. And now, Diddy is facing the federal government, and people have already written him off as guilty.
I don’t know what to believe yet. I haven’t seen any solid proof outside of the Cassie situation, where we know Diddy put the beatdown on her. But beyond that, I’ve heard mixed stories. And while Wack100 is a controversial figure, I think his perspective on the Diddy case is needed—it’s an opposing viewpoint, suggesting that Cassie may have been complicit in certain things and isn’t the total victim that people want to portray her as.
I’m open-minded about all of it, though some of the unnecessary details coming out—like the 1,000 bottles of baby oil—feel like they’re just being pushed to build a narrative. Fame today feels more tied into politics and PR than ever before, where bad press alone can lead to legal trouble, which we already saw with the civil suit that Diddy settled with Cassie.
On another note, I got an interview done yesterday with a friend of mine—a popular content creator that most of you will know. He makes music, and he’s had a couple of songs do well. That will be coming out eventually.
See you all on stream.
