Exclusive Stream Announcement & Drake Puffs His Chest At Fake Friends

Khaled should have called Kendrick mysterious music

What’s poppin y’all,

I’ll be streaming sometime this weekend. This will be my second stream. If you missed my first one, we did a rapper tier list. There wasn’t any function to rewind or for it to be uploaded, but I want streams to be a more private thing—an opportunity for the people that really mess with me and are tapped in to get direct contact and for me to reply in real time.

I see a lot of comments, and while I try to read as many as possible, I can’t reply to all of them. I know that acknowledgement matters—nobody wants to feel like they’re just commenting into the void. So, this is the first place I’m announcing it: I will be streaming this weekend.

The stream will be focused on TDE artist and rapper Doechii. She just won a Grammy, and there’s been a lot of controversy around it. I’ve never listened to any of her music, so I think it’ll be fun to explore her catalog and give my thoughts in real time.

  • When: Saturday

  • Time: Before 4 PM EST, likely in the afternoon (after 12 PM EST / 9 AM PST)

  • Where: I’ll announce the official scheduled time on Friday.

Hopefully, I won’t run into copyright issues, but I’ll try my best.

Drake, DJ Khaled, and the Fence-Sitting Problem

New updates with Drake and DJ Khaled—and I’m going to record a video on this soon. I really like what Drake is doing here.

People are surprised that DJ Khaled was playing the fence in Drake’s beef, but he’s always been in the middle with everything. The guy wouldn’t even stand up for his own countrymen when they were on his head. If people thought he was going to come out and say, Drake’s the greatest or Kendrick is the best, they were mistaken.

That being said, if I were Khaled, hell yeah, I’d back Drake. Kendrick never gave him a damn thing. The West Coast doesn’t even mess with DJ Khaled like that, and Khaled doesn’t seem to care about them either. Maybe he’s trying to stay cool with Kendrick’s camp to get SZA on a record, but this whole situation was embarrassing for him—and deservedly so.

If you want to be a fence-sitter, this is how it goes. Khaled had no problem hating on “mysterious music” when he was competing with Tyler, the Creator for album sales, but suddenly, when it’s Drake, it’s a different story. Shoutout to Drake for putting Khaled in his place.

Streaming Ideas – Looking for Suggestions

I want to make my streams different. Reacting to stuff is cool, but I’d love to mix it up. Feel free to send me suggestions—I think you should be able to reply to this email.

Here are some ideas I’m considering:

  • Underground Music Stream – Listening to newer underground artists. I’ve mostly avoided the new wave since Summrs and Autumn in 2019/2020. The new underground scene is mostly garbage to me, but I haven’t listened to much Ken Carson either. Maybe this could be fun.

  • State-by-State Rap Exploration – Each stream, we focus on one U.S. state and only listen to rappers from there. For example, if we start with Kansas, people have to bring their best Kansas rapper to the table. I’d likely start with California, but this could be a long stream.

  • Call-In Shows for Evergreen Topics – Topics like “Who’s your top five rappers and why?” or “What’s the best rap generation (90s, 2000s, 2010s)?” would be great for call-in discussions.

These streams likely won’t be available afterward due to copyright issues, but maybe I’ll reupload parts of them or put them on Patreon. Hopefully, YouTube doesn’t take them down mid-stream.

If you have any other stream ideas, let me know. I actually enjoyed my last one, so I want to do more of them.

See you on Saturday.
