Kendrick Lamar’s Huge Leak & Song(s) On Repeat

This is a massive do or die moment for Kendrick Lamar's momentum

Kendrick Lamar’s recent interview with Apple Music wasn’t just a casual sit-down—it was a requirement since Apple Music is hosting this year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show. The reason Ebro and Nadeska got the interview? Simple. They’re high up in Apple Music’s hip-hop division—Ebro might even be the head of hip-hop there.

But the glaze fest Nadeska gave Kendrick Lamar? You’d think she had just seen a prophet descend from the heavens before taking a seat next to her. The way she spoke about him, you could practically see an aura or halo around Kendrick.

As for the interview itself? Predictable. It wasn’t even a softball interview—it was pure fluff. If it had been with any less popular artist, it would have done zero views. It was filled with questions like:
"How did that make you feel?"
"What was your process like?"

The closest thing we got to any discussion about the beef with Drake was a nothing-burger. And I get it—this is an Apple Music-controlled Super Bowl event. They don’t want to bring attention to the beef. Ebro, if this were a Hot 97 interview, would have asked real questions. But here? No chance.

Halftime Show Setlist Leaked

Unfortunately, the Super Bowl Halftime Show audio leaked, which means they’ll probably switch it up now. But assuming it stays the same, here’s the setlist:

  • Bodies

  • Squabble Up

  • HUMBLE.

  • DNA.

  • Euphoria

  • Big Three line from Like That

  • Man at the Garden

  • Peekaboo

  • Luther

  • All the Stars

  • Not Like Us

  • TV Off (ending)

Here’s what shocked me: There are songs from Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers on here.

Let’s be real—99.9% of Super Bowl viewers have never heard a song from Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers. It's a recent album with little mainstream impact compared to his past work.

The oldest songs in the setlist are HUMBLE. and DNA., which are big enough hits that casual fans will recognize. But this doesn’t feel like past Super Bowls—where the entire stadium and every viewer at home knew the songs being played and it became a unifying moment.

Yes, we need to champion Kendrick because he’s representing hip-hop on one of the biggest stages. But we also need to be real—if the crowd looks lost, uninterested, or confused, then this wasn’t about Kendrick Lamar earning the Super Bowl spot. It was about getting Drake out of there.

Because the Super Bowl isn’t just about what you did this year—it’s about your entire career, your mass appeal, and your ability to connect with all NFL fans. That’s why some acts that would make sense are:
✅ The Weeknd – Huge global pop star, undeniable mainstream success
✅ Drake – Consistently one of the biggest artists in the world
✅ Lil Wayne – A legend, especially with the Super Bowl being in New Orleans

Can Kendrick deliver the kind of performance that brings everyone in—not just his core fans? We’ll see. Because when the camera pans to the crowd, that reaction is going to tell us everything we need to know.

Song I’ve Been Listening To:

The past couple of days I’ve just been listening to “Did It” and “Carry It On” by DaBaby from his HOW TF IS THIS A MIXTAPE project released late last year. I talked about this project in a video a month or so ago but man… really good stuff.
