Kanye West is losing his mind again
Mo' Money more problems might be right
What’s poppin y’all,
Kanye West is back in the worst part of his cycle. We’ve seen this time and time again—he starts in a religious, politically active mindset, then slowly shifts into a more relatable phase, followed by an increasingly sexual and degenerate one, eventually peaking in something truly outrageous.
One of the first peaks of this cycle was at the VMAs, when he showed up with Amber Rose and a Hennessy bottle in hand, leading to his infamous Taylor Swift moment. But the most recent one was yesterday, mere days after being certified a multi-billionaire again, Ye showed up to the Grammys, where he was nominated for Carnival, with his wife Bianca Censori. She was wearing a big black coat, until they got on the carpet, she removes it, and she’s bare naked.
This is the same Kanye who has openly criticized Kim Kardashian for how she raises North, insisting he doesn’t want his daughter growing up to be oversexualized. Yet he’s now the one pushing those boundaries further than even Kim has. Say what you want about her, but she never showed up to the Grammys completely naked like Kanye’s wife just did.
And before anyone blames Bianca, let’s be honest—this is Kanye’s doing. She wasn’t behaving like this before him, and while I don’t think he’s forcing her, it’s obvious this is a part of his current aesthetic and mindset.
Even if we get great music from this era of Ye, it’s soulless and sets a terrible example. Kanye has openly admitted in his own lyrics that exposure to explicit content as a child ruined him, yet he continues to perpetuate it. Kids are watching the Grammys with their families, and instead of being a positive influence, he doubles down on this persona.
It’s frustrating to see him nearly 50 years old and still stuck in this cycle. The contrast between him and Jay-Z couldn’t be more obvious. One has matured and built an empire while staying in control of his image. The other is still caught in self-destructive loops, unable to break free from them.
At what point does this cycle finally stop? Or does it ever?
