20M+ Organic Streams & Upcoming Interviews

What’s poppin y’all,

Yesterday, I interviewed a friend of mine who was part of a rap duo with massive independent success. One of their songs hit over 20 million streams on Spotify and SoundCloud—completely organic, no paid marketing, no label push, nothing. That’s a lot of streams to do on your own.

His story is one I’m excited to share—how they blew up, how they kept the momentum, what they did after, and what he’s doing now. (Hint: rapping isn’t his main gig anymore.) That interview is in the pipeline, but I don’t know when it’ll drop yet. I still have the Def Jam songwriter interview that I need to put out as well. I’m aiming to release one of these interviews per month.

But today, I’ve got another one lined up—a friend of the artist I interviewed yesterday. He’s mainly a content creator, but he’s also made music that’s done millions of streams—and that’s not easy to do. If I dropped music—even if it was decent—getting a million streams on it would be a serious challenge. And making decent music itself is already difficult.

What I’m doing right now is simple: I want to talk to songwriters, managers, producers—people who have had real success in the industry but aren’t always in the spotlight. These are the stories that need to be heard. Not the Metro Boomins or the latest rapper with a major label deal, but the artists and industry players that upcoming musicians can actually relate to. Even if we’re not artists ourselves, their insights matter.

So that’s what’s coming up. More real stories, more insights, and more perspectives from people who’ve actually done it. Stay tuned.
