I Feel Bad For Ice Spice
What’s poppin y’all,
Lil Tjay has got to be one of the weirdest rappers I’ve ever seen. His lack of self-awareness is honestly shocking.
Recently, he got into another back-and-forth with Offset over some unpaid gambling debts. Offset even said he’s down to meet up, which makes things interesting. We’ll see if anything actually happens there.
But what I really want to talk about is Ice Spice and how she’s suddenly forced to remind people that she’s thick again—when it’s clear she wanted to be skinny in the first place.
Nobody wants to acknowledge this, but female rappers have it way harder than male rappers. I wouldn’t necessarily say female artists in general, but I can say with full conviction that female rappers deal with insane pressure when it comes to appearance, personality, and overall marketability.
Think about it—Ice Spice wanted to lose weight. She actually did it. And what happened? People immediately started saying she fell off because she got skinny—even though her music didn’t change at all.
Granted, the majority of her music has always been garbage, with a couple of decent songs here and there. But this whole image battle is just sad to watch.
Now, in order to get attention back on her, she has to gain weight again and make sure everybody knows she gained weight—all while teasing new music.
So at this point, she’s not just an artist—she’s a product of an image. But what really trips me out is whether she even built the right fanbase.
If her female fans really supported her, they wouldn’t care if she’s skinny or thick.
But if it’s mostly males driving engagement, and they don’t actually stream her music, buy tickets, or support her career financially, then why even cater to them?
That’s the real question.
