An Exclusive Interview on the Chinese Rap Scene & Western Tours

Today, I’ve got an interview with an interesting individual who has booked a lot of Western artists in China. She’s responsible for bringing Chinese rappers outside of China into Western venues and setting up Chinese tours for Western artists.

I think this is going to be a very insightful interview for a lot of you. I don’t know exactly when I’ll drop it, but it’s part of a much bigger project that I’ve been working on since last October. This is actually the first time I’m announcing this project. I’ve made good progress, met a ton of cool people, and it’s going to be exciting to see what comes of it. The interview is just one piece of the puzzle, but trust me—this project is massive. Expect more updates in the coming months.

Young Thug’s Return & a Missed Opportunity?

Young Thug recently came out with a new mask, marking the first time we’ve seen him publicly since his legal troubles. But despite that, we haven’t heard any new music from him.

Personally, I think it would have been very interesting if we had gotten a Young Thug & Mariah the Scientist track—something in the R&B space. As someone who really enjoys Mariah’s music, I think a song between the two could have worked in the same way Lil Durk & Dej Loaf did with My Beyoncé.

When Thug first got out, that would have been the perfect time to capitalize on their relationship by dropping a melodic, love-inspired track. I still think there’s demand for it if that’s his first single, but I’m not too sure if it’ll happen.

The first time we actually saw Thug feature on anything was on Lil Baby’s album with Future, which was expected. But a Young Thug x Mariah record? That’s something I think should still happen. A more melodic, lovey-dovey Thug with his girl—who he’s clearly very into—would be an interesting direction.
