just interviewed a def jam insider, kanye loves AI, & kendrick’s grammy moment

The most exciting week in hip-hop so far this year

What’s poppin y’all,

Yesterday, I sat down for an interview with a good friend of mine—a highly successful entrepreneur who also has a deep history in songwriting. He’s been in the game for years, signed a deal with Def Jam, worked in writing camps, even met one of the biggest producers ever, and has seen the industry from the inside. The interview is dropping in the next couple of weeks, maybe within the month, and it’s a must-watch for any artist or anyone curious about what goes on behind the scenes.

The best part? He’s not tied to the industry anymore. He doesn’t care about keeping up appearances or sugarcoating anything, which means you’re going to get a raw, unfiltered look at how things really work.

Kendrick Lamar’s Huge Grammy Night

Five Grammys. That’s a major. I’ll be recording a full video on it soon, but I’ve got four or five videos already lined up that will be dropping over the next few days.

Kendrick’s face when he won? That was one of the biggest hater smiles I’ve ever seen. If you’ve been following, you know I called this back in November—I said that Not Like Us was going to last way longer than people expected. It got nominated for a Grammy, and now that it’s won, it’s only going to keep gaining momentum.

With Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, and all these big names dancing to it, the damage to Drake’s image is undeniable. At this point, Drake just has to wait this out. Dropping with PartyNextDoor on Valentine’s Day? I love PND, but I just wish he was getting a project with Drake when everyone loves Drake, not when there’s an army of haters ready to tear it down. I already know how Aubrey’s Angels are going to gas this album up, they’re going to say all the women are listening to PND & Drake while men are listening to Kendrick and Kendrick stans don’t get any women, typical nonsense..

AI in Music – Ye Confirms What I’ve Been Saying

I’ve been one of the ONLY people championing AI as the next big technology in music, comparing it to the rise of autotune. Now, Kanye West just confirmed he’s using AI on his next album, Bully.

This is going to be one of the biggest shifts in music production, and just like autotune, people will hate it at first, then eventually accept it once artists figure out how to integrate it creatively. Timbaland has already been supporting it too but he has investment in a company that is assisting with AI in music (sunoAI), BlackySpeakz did a great video on this. The fact that Ye is already on it just shows how inevitable this change is.

More updates coming soon—stay tuned.
